Sign the Petition to PA Officials: Don’t Let the New Pipeline Destroy Our Waterways

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is considering whether to let the PennEast Pipeline Company tear up rivers and streams that provide drinking water to millions of people to build a new gas pipeline. Energy experts say we have above and beyond the pipeline capacity to meet our region’s demands, and the PennEast pipeline isn’t needed.

If this pipeline is approved, PennEast will reap the profits and we’ll be stuck with the pollution.

Our best chance at stopping this unnecessary, dangerous pipeline is to convince the DEP to deny PennEast work permits. It’s a strategy that’s worked in other states, and it could work here if there’s loud enough public opposition.

Sign onto the petition to tell the Department of Environmental Protection NOT to issue work permits to PennEast.

“We urge you to deny the water quality certification and other environmental permits to the PennEast Pipeline Company. There’s no question that the PennEast Pipeline puts our water in danger. Its path runs throughout the Delaware River Watershed, which provides drinking water to millions of people. It would cut through some of the cleanest streams in Pennsylvania that we use for fishing and swimming. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has significant authority and a responsibility to protect our water and other natural resources from this unneeded pipeline.”
